„Wonderful photograms“: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung about Frank Mädler

„While his ceramic objects turn Mädler's preferred subjects — a 'seascape' or a 'snowscape' — into concentrated form, and the cycle of water lilies depicts compositions that consist entirely of color, form and surface, his wonderful photograms often remain a mystery to the viewer. Not only because of their sometimes very large formats that the former master class student of Astrid Klein blindly arranges in the darkroom (...). The things they depict — long strips of masking tape, a plastic bag or strings pinned to the wall, surface, form and color — all lead a highly picturesque life on their own.“ Christoph Schütte, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
